I am an avid Target shopper. I’m in there nearly every week. Including these past two weeks where I was on my way to work but dissatisfied with what I had on. There may have been surprise lunch stains or the feel of new money burning a hole in my pocket.
I have to say, I used to be able to really rely on Target having a few very cute plus sized or things that would still fit me, even though they weren’t in the plus sized section (WHICH, BTW, is soclose to the Maternity section, they’re blended. WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY, TARGET?), but not so much any more. I had to scrounge for these!
Please forgive the awkward posing. I’m still trying to figure how to do this with my new phone, as it doesn’t have a tactile button to make the camera take a picture.
Anyway…
See the second picture? I saw this colorful top, but there was no tag. I couldn’t figure out what was, so I just put it on. After more thorough looking, (hoping to find a price), I found out it’s actually a “robe”! One of those thin, beachy robes. Oh well, works for me! However, I was pressed for time and didn’t want the hassle of trying to find the price.
THE POINT IS
Never be too shy to try new things. Even if the clothing isn’t traditional or maker meant to be worn in the way you desire, no one has to know! If you like it and it makes you feel good, wear it.
Always try things on. Never say no to trying on any item that interests you. It’s a dressing room, not a marriage.
I know what it’s like to have things you love not fit and how easy it is to blame your body, but remember, CLOTHING IS MEANT TO BE TAILORED TO YOU! CLOTHING IS MEANT TO BE CUT, SEWN, REPURPOSED. CLOTHING IS MEANT TO WORK FOR YOU, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.
It took me a while to understand that, but I’m so glad I took the chance.
A shot like this reminds me that I don’t have to be model thin to be incredibly sexy.

Can I just say I love Ashley Graham’s body? I know it’s most likely photoshopped but her skin is friggin beautiful and so are her curves. Can I just be her please? I would walk around in THIS like….all the time. AND I LOVE HER HAIR SO MUCH. She is so beautiful.
This is my weak spot. This is the area of my body I could never stand to look at in the mirror.
But now I’m totally happy with my waistline and I’m not afraid to wear bikinis anywhere. Stretch marks and all :)
